Last month, French restaurant Mirazur, nestled on the Cote d’Azur, was awarded its second Michelin Star.
Renowned chef Mauro Colagreco opened Mirazur in 2006 and nabbed his first Michelin Star within a year.
Success is not new to the Italo-Argentinian chef who has worked in some of the finest restaurants in Buenos Aires before heading to the French Riviera via Paris.
Over the years, Mirazur has earned its reputation for fine dining. It’s been included in the ‘The S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ list and Colagreco was named ‘Chef of the Year’ by the prestigious Gault & Millau restaurant guide marking the first occasion in which the award was given to a non-French chef.
Mirazur is located in picturesque Menton, known as la perle de la France due to its prime location boasting panoramic views of the Mediterranean. The restaurant is housed in a Modernist-style building dating back to the 1950’s. The interior combines modern decor with a relaxing seaside vibe. (As if the succulent dishes weren’t enough to lure you).
In addition to fantastic scenery and great food, the Cote d’Azur is a haven for art lovers boasting a vast selection of modern art collections, not least Matisse’s Chapel of the Rosary in Vence, but also works by masters such as Renoir, Bonnard, Braque, Léger, Chagall and Picasso.
What a perfect mix, gourmet cuisine, world-renowned artworks and breathtaking seaside retreats. What am I still doing in London?!
