NYC Art Gallery Guide

New York is a great art city and a great walking city. Put those pluses together with spring — which is finally here, right? — and the time has come to hit the streets of the major gallery neighborhoods, of which Manhattan has four. Chelsea’s star attraction at the moment is Picasso. The Lower East Side still has room for starter galleries. Uptown is, as always, a meanderingly eclectic mix. And SoHo demands a little shoe leather to see Manhattan’s still-experimental alternative spaces.
